Gamiaw Weather: Update on Typhoon Carina

Manila Philippines - Good News! At 11:00 a.m., Monday, 01 August 2016 Severe Tropical Storm "CARINA" is already outside the Philippine Area Of Responsibility (PAR) and no longer has any direct effect to any part of the country.

All Tropical Cyclone Warning Signals are now lifted.

  • Estimated rainfall amount is from moderate to heavy within the 500 km diameter of the Severe Tropical Storm.

  • Fisherfolk are alerted against  rough to very rough seas over the seaboards of Northern Luzon, the eastern seaboard of Central Luzon and the western and southern seaboards of Southern Luzon.

  • MIMAROPA, the rest of Northern Luzon and the provinces of Zambales and Bataan are alerted against moderate to heavy rains associated with the Southwest Monsoon which may trigger flash floods and landslides.

    Coordinates:20.4°N, 118.5°E
    Strength:Maximum sustained winds of up to 105 kph near the center
    and gustiness of up to 135 kph.
    Movement:Forecast to move West Northwest at 24 kph.
