Manila, Philippines - Philippine National Police (PNP) former chief Director General Alan Purisima has been allowed to travel abroad this coming September.

The Sandiganbayan Sixth Division gave permission for Purisima to travel to the United States (US) to visit his son from September 5-27.

Purisima stated in his motion the importance of Filipino family values, which is why he wants to visit his son Jason Arvi, who is currently studying in California.

The anti-graft court has set Purisima’s travel bond to Php30,000 and he has to present his passport personally in court five days after his arrival.

Purisima is facing graft charges in connection with the anomalous courier deal during his stint at the PNP.
