Habagat death toll reaches to nine

Cavite, Philippines - Habagat has left nine casualties as it brought strong rains in some parts of Luzon and Visayas.

Two individuals were buried alive in a tunnel in Sumag River, Gen. Nakar in Quezon province amid heavy rains over the weekend.

Based on a report from Brooke’s Point Palawan, a man died from drowning while trying to catch some fish.

In Cavite, another individual drowned in Emilio Aguinaldo last Sunday.

Prior to this, five casualties were recorded in Manila and Quezon City because of Habagat.
Meanwhile, on the record of the National Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council (NDRRMC), seven are still missing while more than 23, 000 families were evacuated from Central Luzon, CALABARZON, Metro Manila and Western Visayas due to the Habagat.
