Pinol forms task force vs illegal fishing in West Philippine Sea

Philippines - Department of Agriculture (DA) Sec. Manny Piñol ordered the creation of a task force against illegal fishing including foreign fishermen in West Philippine Sea (WPS).

This is Pinol’s response after receiving complaints from different municipalities of Zambales in connection with illegal fishing in the said area, particularly those using dynamite as well as the entry of foreign fishermen in the area.

Pinol tasked the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) national Director Eduardo Gongona to lead the said task force.
