Gamiaw REGIONAL: Osmena dares Dela Rosa to name police close to him receiving ‘payola’

Cebu City, Philippines - Mayor Tomas Osmena is challenging Philippine National Police (PNP) Ronald Dela Rosa to name high-ranking officials close to him who are allegedly receiving ‘payola’ from illegal drugs.

The mayor’s statement came after his trusted police official was accused of receiving ‘payola’ from the number one drug lord in Cebu.

According to PNP Chief Dela Rosa, the said official allegedly receives PhP200, 000 bribe every week from Franz Sabalones, brother of the vice-mayor of the town of San Fernando.

Osmena said that if the accusation is true, Dela Rosa should directly name his trusted police colonel involved in illegal drugs too.
