BAUAN, Batangas – Another drug suspect was shot dead by a still unidentified killer on Don Quintin Castillo Street, Barangay Poblacion 1 here on Tuesday, police said.

Chief Inspector Jezreel Calderon, Bauan police chief, identified the victim as Regie Suanqui, alias Jake, 38, a resident of Poblacion 2.

Police reports the victim was on a Honda Wave motorcycle when a gunman in a black jacket and hood shot the victim and wounded him.

The victim was rushed to the Bauan General Hospital but was declared dead on arrival.

Calderon said police are looking at the victim’s involvement in the illegal drug trade as a possible motive for the killing. He said some detainees at their station told police that Sanqui is a drug pusher.

The victim was not included, though, in the town’s drug watchlist since police only learned of Suanqui's alleged involvement in drugs through the detainees.

Sanqui is the second drug suspect killed in Bauan this week. On Monday, suspect Ronald Jake Caringal, included in the town’s drug watchlist, was shot by still unidentified motorcycle-riding gunmen in La Paz Ext. Street, Barangay Poblacion 2.
