Manila, Philippines - Talk N Text player Jayson Castro announced on his Instagram account that he will be retiring from Gilas Pilipinas.
Castro, one of the pillars of the national team made the announcement after the Gilas boys bid goodbye to their dream of qualifying in the Rio Olympics with their disappointing loss to the New Zealand team.
In his Instagram post, Jayson said that as they end their bid for a spot at the Rio Olympics, he is also ending his stint as a member of Gilas Pilipinas. “For the past few years, it has been my honor to represent all of you but now it’s time to hand over the responsibility to the younger generation.”
Jayson thanked the fans of Gilas Pilipinas for their continued support to the team. “Hindi ko makakalimutan lahat ng pinagsamahan natin.”
