Manila, Philippines - Film director Brillante Mendoza said that he is happy that he was offered to direct President Rodrigo Duterte’s first State of the Nation Address on Monday.
The acclaimed director also fired back at his critics as they lambasted some of the director’s camera shots.
According to Mendoza, he planned on putting emphasis on the face of the President and his actions because this will mean that there is connection between the President and the people.
The director added that he deliberately did not apply his usual shots so that people will be able to feel closer to the President. There won’t have any barrier between Duterte and his audience.
Mendoza was manning 18 cameras during Duterte’s SONA.
