Gamiaw Entertainment: Lav Diaz’ 8-hour movie participates in foreign film festival anew

Manila, Philippines - Film director Lav Diaz’ latest masterpiece “Hele sa Hiwagang Hapis” will once soon be competing in the Indonesia Film Festival.

The movie, which starts Piolo Pascual, John Lloyd Cruz and other big names in both mainstream and independent film industries, will participate in the Arkipel Jakarta International Documentary and Experimental Film Festival from August 17-26 in Indonesia.

Based on the announcement from the festival’s website, “Hele” will be competing in the International Competition section and will be up against films from Austria, Mexico, USA and Italy among others.
This is not the first time that “Hele” will be competing internationally.  On February 21, “Hele” received the Alfred Bauer Prize at the Berlin International Film festival.
