Manila, Philippines - Former Vice President Jejomar Binay posted his Php376,000 bail on his graft charges filed against him at the Sandiganbayan on Friday.
The former Vice President is facing four counts of graft, nine counts of falsification of public documents and one count of malversation charges.
In line with this, Senator Antonio Trillanes IV feels vindicated that amid the Senate Blue Ribbon Sub Committee being criticized for policking as the hearing regarding the former Vice President’s alleged graft cases dragged for almost a year, at least the Ombudsman found probable cause to press charges against the older Binay.
Meanwhile, the former Makati Mayor Junjun Binay is also facing the same charges as it was during his term that the building in questioned was finished.
The anti-graft court has decided to consolidate the cases of the two Binays. Instead of raffling off to determine which court to handles these cases, Justice Oscar Herrera on Friday confirmed that the case against the former Vice President and the former Makati Mayor have been consolidated at the Sandiganbayan Third Division.
