Philippines - The Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG) is asking for PhP200 million ransom in exchange for the release of five Malaysian sailors they abducted in Sabah recently.

In a report from the Borneo post, one of the five hostages Tayudin Anjut, 45, called their employer to inform that they were brought in Basilan.

According to Anjut, the ASG demands PhP200 million but the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP)  Philippine National Police (PNP) refused to confirm the said report.

The five Malaysian crew were onboard tugboat Seruduna-3 when they were abducted by the ASG in the ocean near Sabah and Lahad Datu last July 18, 2016.
