The
Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) confirmed on March 6 that three
Filipinos in Saudi Arabia have been infected with Middle East
Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus (MERS-CoV).
According to DFA Spokesperson Charles Jose, the first of the three
to test positive with the virus is a 56 year-old nurse assigned at an
emergency room; the second is a respiratory technician; the third is
also a nurse assigned at the oncology section.
They are now in isolation and are undergoing medical tests, Jose said.
He added that the identities of the health care workers cannot be
