Actor Cesar Montano filed an appeal with the Quezon City Regional Trial Court, Monday, to regain his weekend visitation rights with his children.

The actor claimed he has been barred from seeing his daughters since late last year following his estranged wife Sunshine Cruz’s allegation of child abuse. A related case was filed early February this year.

In her affidavit, Cruz accused Montano of performing lewd acts in front of their children when they stayed overnight at his home.

Montano vehemently denied the accusation, stressing that he even brings the children to church whenever they are together.

“Paano ko po magagawa ’yun sa kanila? Sasamahan ko silang magdasal tapos gagawin ko sa harapan nila iyon? Hindi naman po siguro ako galing sa mental hospital para gawin ko ’yun,” he told ABS-CBNNews.com.

Montano pointed out what he deemed were inconsistencies in the complaint. Supposedly, Cruz claimed that her children were traumatized on Nov. 26. But according to Montano, he was still able to see his kids on Dec. 1.

Montano believes the child abuse case stemmed over their disagreement over a certain property; and Cruz being jealous when he was rumored to have found new love.

He maintained that he has since signed a compromise agreement allowing Sunshine the property she supposedly asked for. Montano, however, appealed for Sunshine to stop making their issues public.
“Dapat ito, ayusin naming dalawa. Hindi po dapat ito inilalabas may katotohanan man o wala,” he said.

To his children Montano said, “Andirito ako, hindi ko kayo pababayaan and your father will still be the same. Stick with the truth. Do not allow anybody to teach you how to lie. Okay? Please pray for daddy, pray for mom. Stay with the truth, sweethearts.”

In a post on Instagram, Cruz explained to followers that she only filed the complaint to “protect” her daughters.

“They deserve to be loved and to be raised properly. Any loving mother would protect and fight for her children to the fullest,” she said.

She stressed that she filed the charges “discreetly,” and that it was not her intention to publicize it. She also denied using their children to get the properties she wants, maintaining that she can still provide for their needs because of her work and endorsements.
