President Rodrigo Duterte on Thursday has skipped another summit in Vientiane, Laos. This time, the ASEAN-United States Summit with US President Barack Obama.
In photos posted by GMA News reporter Ian Cruz on Twitter, Foreign Affairs Secretary Perfecto Yasay Jr. stood in for Duterte during the summit.
As of posting time, Malacañang officials have yet to explain Duterte's absence at the summit. On Wednesday, Duterte also missed most of the ASEAN-United Nations Summit with Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon because he paid a courtesy call on Laos President Bounnhang Vorachith. — Trisha Macas/RSJ, GMA News
