Joint Task Force Sulu Commander Brig. Gen. Arnel Dela Vega is asking the public, especially in his areas of operations, to refrain from panicking amid terror threats making their rounds in social media.
Instead of being rattled, Gen. Dela Vega said that the public should be vigilant and alert.  Dela Vega added that all information regarding terror threats are being validated by authorities.

The Armed Forces of the Philippines official said that the public should immediately report any suspicious individuals or group to the police or their local officials.

In line with this, Dela Vega made an appeal to refrain from moving or touching abandoned bags and report them immediately to authorities.

The AFP official is advising the public to continue with their daily routine and do not be affected with unconfirmed terror threats.

“The aim of terrorists is to sow fear and panic by means of bloodshed, destruction and intimidation.  If we subscribe to their threat even without them actually doing it, they succeeded in disturbing our way of life,” Dela Vega said.

“It is also wide not to spread text or any message that specifically details a supposed terroristic attack on a specific establishment on the issue,” added Dela Vega.
