A certain Jasmin Sala was arrested after she made a joke that a bomb was inside her bag while entering a mall in Cebu City.
The 37-year old, resident of Brgy. Tipolo Mandaue City while going through inspection before entering the mall uttered that she was carrying a bomb inside her bag.
Sala was immediately picked up by security guards and was brought to the Cebu City Police office in Gorodo Avenue.
Under Presidential Decree 1727, it is prohibited to make a bomb scare even though it is just a joke.
Sala cried and defended that she was not aware that certain law exists and said that she is sorry for her joke.
The suspect may possibly face up to five years of imprisonment and may post bail of up to Php40,000.
