PHILIPPINES - The Joint Task Force Sulu Commander has commended the troops of the Philippine Army and the Philippine National Police for their successful rescue operations on the kidnap victim in Sirawi, Zamboanga Del Norte.
According to Joint Task Force Sulu Commander Brig. Gen. Arnel Dela Vega, the soldiers and police men played a vital role in the strike and rescue operation against the Abu Sayyaf Group, which prompted the rescue of kidnap victim Martina Yee in Indanan, Sulu.
Dela Vega insisted that the successful rescue efforts on the victim will serve as template in the collaboration of all government agencies and the residents.
Dela Vega said that the task force was able to save seven kidnap victims since President Rodrigo Duterte ordered the annihilation of the ASG.
Meanwhile, the head of the Joint Task Force hopes that the coordination with the different sectors, including residents and LGUs will strengthen the government’s efforts in ending the reign of the ASG and save the remaining kidnap victims.
“We hope to see more collaboration from different stakeholders in the coming days to destroy the ASG and rescue the remaining hostages,” quipped Gen. Dela Vega.
