During his speech at the inauguration of a power plant in Misamis Oriental, President Duterte invited United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki Moon, representatives from the UE and even the UN rapporteurs to investigate the alleged EJKs in the country.
In line with this, President Duterte said that after their investigation, he will call them and throw to their faces their accusations.
Prior to this, the UN and EU expressed their concern over the alleged increasing number of extra-judicial killings in the country amid the administration’s war on drugs.
Meanwhile, President Duterte said that he is bent on pushing for a peaceful negotiation with China over the maritime dispute at the West Philippine Sea.
Duterte added that when the Philippines won its arbitration case, the country had two options, go to war or negotiate.
The President said that the country is not capable to go to war, and he doubts if any American soldier is willing to die for the Philippines.
In line with this, President Duterte is willing to meet with China, carrying the “arbitration award” because the country can only depend on itself.
