'Yun-'yon!, Opinyon!: Marcos was No Hero, but was a Soldier
By Emanym Si Yaj

That famous Filipino line "Hindi lahat ng nasa simbahan ay banal at hindi lahat ng nagsisimba ay maliligtas" is now synonymous to that of "Hindi lahat ng mga nakalibing sa libingan ng mga bayani ay totoong mga Bayani".

Search everywhere and you'll see the people's strong reactions about the controversial decision of PH' highest court - SC, Allowing the burial of the Ex. Pres. Marcos to the Heroe's Cemetery. Alot of you is saying that he wasn't a hero and do not deserve a single place to LB. You all has your say and we all respect that. Whether you and the majority of the Filipinos view are in contrast to that of the magistrates of SC, may we all bestow respect to them and to the decision they made, remember they are there to oversee and make sure that the law of the land is properly executed and served.Marcos may not be a hero in our eyes. He may or may not be the brain of the assasination to the ex. Sen. Aquino and may or may not also be the mastermind of the left and right killings that happened in his time (administration), but you see those things are in the middle of true and false - claims that until now, is yet to be proven.

The main reason that deprived the Ex. President his right to be buried to a resting place where he also deserved. Look he was a former soldier (which most of you are also disputing as it was doctored accordig to some claims), he was a President for so many years and finally, he erected establishments that until now our fellow countrymen are benefiting from and which made the PH once "a tiger nation" during his time. Its true that the late President might have downsides, but who does not have it? Everyone of us has and that shouldn't be a reason for us to deprive and deny him get an everlasting peace. 27 years of lying without eternal peace is enough for him to pay for whatever sins he may have committed to humanity during his time.

PRESIDENT RODRIGO ROA DUTERTE
President of the Philippines
Malacañan, Manila

Through:Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre
Department of Justice
Dear Mr. President:

I hope that this letter finds you in an excellent state of health and spirit as the country needs the leadership that only its President can provide. I congratulate you for outlining very timely and responsive peace and development objectives in your State of the Nation Address.
Allow me to give some observations on seven judges whom you had named in your speech on Sunday morning in Davao City as being involved in illegal drugs, namely:

Judge Mupas of Dasmariñas, Cavite
Judge Reyes, Baguio City
Judge Savilo, RTC Branch 13, Iloilo City
Judge Casiple, Kalibo, Aklan
Judge Rene Gonzales, MTC, (unknown province)
Judge Natividad, RTC Calbayog City
Judge Ezekiel Dagala, MTC, Dapa, Siargao

Lorenda Mupas was dismissed in 2007 as MTC Judge of Dasmarinas, Cavite for gross ignorance of the law/misconduct. We request that her dishonorable discharge be duly considered and that she be not referred to as part of the judiciary as of nine years ago.

Judge Roberto Navidad, formerly of the RTC, Branch 32, Calbayog City, Samar was killed on 14 January 2008 at the age of 69.

Today we celebrate, the Philippines' 118th Independence Day.

As we celebrate this victorious event, let us look back and relive the memories of the past. Freshen up our minds with the Philippines colorful and meaningful history.

Independence Day is a special day in the Philippines when many people, including government officials, employees, and students, participate in nationwide parades.  However, the main highlight is the police and military parade in Manila headed by the country’s incumbent president, followed by a speech and a 21-gun salute.  Many Filipinos spend the day in parks and malls. While many Filipino communities in other countries also observe the nation’s Independence Day celebrations in their patriotic unique ways

TODAY IN HISTORY:
During the Spanish-American War, Filipino rebels led by Emilio Aguinaldo proclaim the independence of the Philippines after 300 years of Spanish rule. By mid-August, Filipino rebels and U.S. troops had ousted the Spanish, but Aguinaldo’s hopes for independence were dashed when the United States formally annexed the Philippines as part of its peace treaty with Spain.

The Philippines, a large island archipelago situated off Southeast Asia, was colonized by the Spanish in the latter part of the 16th century. Opposition to Spanish rule began among Filipino priests, who resented Spanish domination of the Roman Catholic churches in the islands. In the late 19th century, Filipino intellectuals and the middle class began calling for independence. In 1892, the Katipunan, a secret revolutionary society, was formed in Manila, the Philippine capital on the island of Luzon. Membership grew dramatically, and in August 1896 the Spanish uncovered the Katipunan’s plans for rebellion, forcing premature action from the rebels. Revolts broke out across Luzon, and in March 1897, 28-year-old Emilio Aguinaldo became leader of the rebellion.

Separation of Church and State ba i-kamo?

Separation of Church and State

Ayon sa Kora, malinaw ang batas hinggil sa Separation of Church and State.
