MANILA – Blame it on the timing.

Maja Salvador admitted that she could have ended up with Coco Martin when they were paired with each other in the series “Minsan Lang Kita Iibigin.”
Their tandem was even warmly received by a lot of TV viewers at the peak of the show's popularity in 2011.

“Kung walang Matteo, baka po [may chance na naging kami],” Salvador said in an interview with “The Buzz” on Sunday, referring to her then boyfriend Matteo Guidicelli

In 2011, Guidicelli and Martin made headlines after they got into a fist fight over Salvador. It was only in 2012 when the two actors patched things up.

On "The Buzz," Salvador admitted that Martin is very likable and that she finds his great devotion to his family quite admirable.

“Kilala niyo siya na sobrang makapamilya din. Sobrang mahal niya 'yung lola niya. Iba din siya magpahalaga ng mga mahal niya sa buhay. Kahit leading lady niya ako nun, talagang alaga din naman,” she said.

But the actress clarified that she never got confused about her feelings for Guidicelli at the time. “Hindi [ako nagkaroon ng feelings for Coco], sure naman ako doon. Pero sobrang bait ni Coco,” she said.

Salvador added that she feels honored to have been given the chance to work with Martin, with whom she shares the same passion for acting.

“Tama po kayo na 'yung passion namin sa trabaho. Natutuwa talaga kami nung ‘Minsan Lang Kita Iibigin’ kasi parang lahat, parang first time ko magkaroon ng kapareha na tanggap talaga ng tao. 'Yung mga ginagawa namin sa mall show, 'yung talagang magpapakilig talaga kami, ganun kasi 'yung character ko, parang ako 'yung mas lumalapit. So si Coco nadadala talaga hanggang sa nahahalikan na niya ako,” she explained.

Give up career for love
Meanwhile, Salvador said she is willing to give up her career for love. The “Bridges of Love” actress is currently in a relationship with Gerald Anderson.

Salvador, however, clarified that as of the present, her main priority is still her family.
“Sana huwag muna dumating sa ganun. Siguro after five years, kapag dumating 'yun, baka panahon na rin para piliin ko na ang love. Kasi after five years, 32 na ako nun,” she said.

“Dadating 'yun sa lahat sa atin pero sa ngayon, malabo pa kasi meron pa kaming kanya-kanyang responsibilities [ni Gerald],” she said.
Salvador and Anderson became a couple in 2013.
