DLSU's Camille Cruz injured late in Game 1

By ABS-CBN Sports

Late in the third set of the UAAP Season 77 Women's Volleyball Finals, De La Salle University fans saw an all too familiar turn for the worse as Camille Cruz suffered an apparent injury on her right knee.

Cruz appeared to have landed badly on her knee and immediately dropped to the floor, much to the horror of the Lady Spiker fans, as well as everyone in attendance. For a moment, the Araneta Coliseum crowd fell silent as everyone waited to see the extent of the injury.

Moments later however, Cruz was able to get back up and return to the bench, but not without help from teammates.

Cruz watched from the sidlines while being tended to by team therapists as the Ateneo Lady Eagles closed out game one in the third set.

Following the match, Cruz required a crutch to be able to return to the team's dugout and was taken to the hospital following the team's huddle.

This unfortunate injury comes just days after team captain and former MVP Ara Galang suffered a litany of injuries to her left knee, rendering her out of the Finals.

Cruz has already been sidelined due to injury before, suffering a torn ACL in Season 74.
