Gamiaw Regional News: Ilocos Norte’s Mayor and Vice Mayor order to take a leave by provincial council

Ilocos Norte, Philippines - The Provincial Council of Ilocos Norte is asking its Mayor and Vice Mayor, Chevylle Farina and Michael Farins respectively, to take a leave from their posts amid the controversy on the missing Php90 million from the Treasurer’s Office.

The Provincial Board passed a resolution asking the two officials to take a leave from their posts while the Commission on Audit starts is investigation on the said case.

However, the couple said that they have no intention of taking a break from their posts because they are innocent of the said allegations.

Meanwhile, City Treasurer Ellen Asuncion has already left the country.  Based on the list of the Bureau of Immigration, Asuncion has left for Hawaii.
