Manila, Philippines - The Supreme Court (SC) suspended Ely Pamatong as lawyer after the latter called the judge who filed a disbarment case against him, corrupt.

The suspension means that Pamatong cannot practice his profession within two years.

The suspension rooted when Pamatong called Judge Gregorio Pantanosas corrupt while inside the court hearing for the civil case he was handling.

Pamatong fumed when Judge Pantanosas ordered him to remove his copia or headwear used by Muslims.

Aside from verbal attack, Pamatong published his accusations against the judge in a newspaper, calling the judge as the most corrupt judge he had ever known in his 30-year-career as lawyer and is great shame to the judicial system.
