A loving Father is being kissed by his loving son | By: Aram Odumreb |
I woke up early this morning not because of my scheduled routine, but because my phone keeps on ringing. It appeared to me that it was an emergency call that I had to immediately attend to, and when I'm about to answer it, the caller already ended the call on the other line. Following that was a text message sent from an unknown sender who might have mistakenly sent the message greeting me a Happy Father's Day!
Wow! I didn't know that others sees me now as a father! :-) I didn't know why I didn't feel any objections at the back of my mind with this kind of thought and to my surprise that drawn a silly smile in me, and that made my mind busy for the next thirty minutes (I guess) imagining what life would bring me and my own family, If I will go ahead and settle at this point of life. I then came to asses my situation to see If I am now ready to be called Papa or Tatay and If I am now financially and emotionally ready to assume the responsibility of a responsible Dad.
If God will bless me a child, I'd like to be that person who can stand for my family especially for my children and my wife. Stay with them especially in the most lowest point of our lives - the most difficult trial we will meet. It's okay for me not to be called the best Dad in this world, What's important for me though is to be a good provider of my family's needs. Coming up with this ideology brought me back to the reality that time is running and that I had to first face my work - I had to attend to my laundry so that I can still hang it outside while there is still sun to dry it up.
Twenty three pieces of one week's office and house clothes were washed and hang outside my unit as I do not have dryer to dry it up and that took me almost three hours to finish it. And while I'm doing the laundry work my brain returned to where it stopped earlier ~ well, I had no serious relationship ever since I reached the puberty slash teenage stage until now that I am about to outnumbered the calendar and I guess it's just normal to think about a serious relationship goal in this point of life. But whenever I am assessing myself there's always this thing that is stopping me - Financial status.
I grew up from a very poor yet a big family and it is always this Financial requirement to settle down that's haunting me and now becoming my greatest fear in pursuing a serious relationship. I had enough burdens and had suffered a lot in life and I will never let the precious gifts to be given to me(my children) to experience the same. And this is the reason why I am yet to commit into a serious relationship. I don't want to put my family's future at risk. I'd like to have a detailed plan before getting into this complicated stage of life.
Do note that I respect everyone one's choice in life, this ideology is just my standard and I do not mean to judge anyone of you reading my article. My goal is just to at least prepare myself before jumping to the situation which I may possibly regret in the future. Financial problems often lead to broken families, and I do not want to experience that. I want a long lasting relationship. I want a relationship that lasts forever!. And I strongly believe that this can be achieved by proper planning and being responsible enough for our future.

I may be different to other men out there who are very good in life, willing to sacrifice and do the risk, fight for the one they love without having this plan and unminding circumstances that may arise hence unplanned, I may be different from them 'coz I am following an ideology that to some is not really a requirement in life as others would say that it is more convincing and is probably more exciting if you let it happen unplanned. Believe me, I have high regards and adores those who are though unprepared in life but are solution's-wise person. They can stand and resolve problems no matter how complicated and difficult that problem is - and they are what we usually called Super dads! They can resolve problems even those that are less-likely to happen. They are those Daddies that I guess, are really fit to be called The best daddy's of the world.
And for these people who are unconditionally performing their task as Fathers of their respective children and families. To those whose sacrifices are countless for the betterment of their kids, wife and family - our high Salute for you all performing Dads!
Every man has its own unique ways in threating problems, conflicts and risks within their family, and there wouldn't really be best plan which will work for everyone as our situations are unique. Addressing problems in our most convenient way is more important than following what one has advised and told you to do., being RESOURCEFUL and practicing the ability to solve the problem in the most quickest way possible keeps you a man of pride and a trust-worthy man in your family., and that differences made us Best of our Own ways - Daddies!
And for all the Daddies, Tatays, Lolos, Tito, Ingkong, Tata, Manong, Kuya, Manoy and Papas out there who by any chance are dying every hour, every minute and every second of their lives (forgetting themselves) for the welfare of their beloved ones - Our sincerest greeting of a
Happy Father's Day !!!
