Lim resigns as head of COMELEC Finance office

Manila, Philippines - The Commission on Elections En Banc has accepted the resignation of Commissioner Christian Robert Lim as head of the Campaign Finance Office of the poll body.

According to COMELEC Chairman Andres Bautista, he already has the resignation letter of Lim.
Atty. Jose Tolentino, Executive Director of COMELEC will temporarily take over Lim’s post.

Base on Lim’s resignation latter, he continues to insist his opposition on the En Banc’s decision to give in to the Liberal party and its standard bearer Mar Roxas’ request to extend the deadline of the filing of the Statement of Contributions and Expenditures.

The letter also said that Lim’s resignation is irrevocable and is effective since Monday, June 20.
Lim thanked all the personnel of the CFO and the field personnel of the COMELEC, including the Philippine Center for Investigative Journalism for its support and help to push for the campaign finance laws in the country.
