Mindanao, Philippines - The Abu Sayyaf group has set another deadline for today (June 13), for the government to meet with their ransom demand in exchange of the release of the three other hostages that were abducted from Samal Island.

However, the government insists its ‘no ransom policy’, and will not give in to the Php300 million per head demand by the ASG.

Armed Forces of the Philippines Spokesman B/Gen. Restituto Padilla said that they will stop their military operations against the ASG until they are able to save the victims.

Prior to this, the ASG beheaded one of its hostages, John Ridsdel last April 25, following a video release of two foreigners and a Filipina begging incoming President Rodrigo Duterte for help.

The ASG also then released a video threatening the government that if they will not give the ransom money being demanded, the three other captives will be facing the same fate as Ridsdel.
