ENTERTAINMENT | 2017's Miss Universe Iris Mittenaere to continue charity work on education


Miss France Iris Mittenaere was crowned as Miss Universe 2017
during the Coronation day today, January 30, 2017 at the Mall of Asia Arena, Mall of Asia, Pasay City, Philippines.


MANILA, Philippines — Miss Universe 2016 Iris Mittenaere said on Monday that she would be focusing on charities that tackle education.

Right after being crowned as Miss Universe 2016, Mittenaere said in a press conference that she has one charity for teaching children.

"But now I represent the universe, and I want to do more than that," Mittenaere said.
She added that she thinks that education for every child is important, and wants to bring every child to school.
"I have the chance to live in France and go to school every morning and I think every children should have this chance," Mittenaere said.

Mittenaere said that after seeing what Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach did during her reign, she wants to do the same.

"I want to help people, I want to understand people, I want to travel and meet people, and that's why this is a dream for me, to be Miss Universe," Mittenaere said. - with a report from Kristian Javier/Philstar
