MANILA, Philippines – Controversial driver and bodyguard Ronnie Dayan confirmed on Tuesday his relationship with Sen. Leila de Lima.
Dayan, who was arrested this morning, admitted that his relationship with De Lima lasted for seven years.
“Totoo po may relasyon kami, seven years,” Dayan said in a press briefing at Camp Crame in Quezon City.
He was presented to the media by Philippine National Police chief Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa following his arrest in La Union this morning.
Dayan was labeled as bagman of then Justice Secretary De Lima in their connivance with high-profile inmates who run the illegal drug trade inside the New Bilibid Prison.
Senator De Lima earlier admitted that she had an affair with the married Dayan.
