The nation awaits the valedictory address of outgoing Senators on Monday as their term ends on June 30, 2016.

Senators Miriam Defensor-Santiago, Lito Lapid, Juan Ponce-Enrile, Bongbong Marcos Jr., Ramon Revilla Jr. and Jinggoy Estrada will all be ending their stint in the Senate, and are expected to deliver their individual speeches on Monday.

Meanwhile, Santiago will be skipping off the Sine Die Adjournment of Monday because she is still recovering from her bout with Pneumonia brought by her stage 4 Lung Cancer at the Makati Medical Center.

In the 16th Congress, Estrada, Enrile and Revilla were all jailed for their alleged involvement in the Php10 Billion Pork Barrel Fund scam.

The Senate was able to pass 238 bills under the 16th Congress, including the Php82,000 tax exemption for bonuses, tax reform and SSS pension hike bill, which was vetoed by outgoing president Benigno Aquino III.
