Manila, Philippines - The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency doubts if there is truth behind the statement of incoming Justice Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre that a big bulk of the supply of shabu that is being sold in Metro Manila is coming from the National Bilibid Prisons.
According to PDEA Director-General Arturo Cacdac Jr., after years of monitoring inside the NBP, they have no strong evidence that will prove that shabu is being “cooked” inside the said compound.
Cacdac added that there is a possibility that transactions in selling of illegal drugs in the country are being facilitated by convicted drug lords inside the penitentiary.
Drug lords inside the NBP only need a laptop, smartphones and internet signal, for them to conduct their illegal dealings from the outside.
The PDEA official explained that he is confident that officials of the NBP are doing all necessary measures to make sure that all illegal activities inside the said compound will be stopped. CT: RH News
