Manila Philippines - Senator Grace Poe topped the Presidentiables with the most spending in the recently concluded national elections.

Based on the lady Senator’s Statement of Contributions and Expenditures which she filed at the Commission on Elections today, Senator Grace spent Php510 million.

Following Senator Grace is Vice President Jejomar Binay with Php463 million.  Incoming President Rodrigo Duterte spent Php375 million based on his SOCE while Senator Miriam Defensor-Santiago spent Php74.6 million.

Liberal party standard bearer Mar Roxas on the other hand, failed to submit his SOCE, amid the COMELEC extending the deadline of the submission from 5pm to 6:30pm.

Meanwhile, for the Vice Presidentiables, winning candidate Leni Robredo was able to file her SOCE just before the deadline, and based from the said document, she spent Php418 million.

Senators’ Gringgo Honasan, Antonio Trillanes IV, Francis Escudero, and Alan Peter Cayetano have filed their SOCEs as well.

The Commission on Elections has set its deadline for the filing of the SOCE by both winning and losing candidates.  Failure of the candidate to submit his/her SOCE on time, may be facing disqualification from his/her post in government.
