Senate oks Batanes as Cultural Heritage and Ecotourism zone

The proposed bill declaring Batanes as a Cultural Heritage and Ecotourism Zone passed it through the third and final reading in the Senate.

The said bill aims to increase the already blossoming local Tourism industry in Batanes.

Under the said bill, the province of Batanse should be given priority by the Department of Tourism and that it would be under the rules and regulations in implementing Cultural heritage and eco-Tourism zone.

According to Senator Loren Legarda, one of the sponsors of the proposed bill, amid the pending infrastructures and Tourism programs for the province, we should also not forget the natural beauty of Batanes.
