By: Rita Salonga via RH Radio

The Commission on Elections junked the request of Vice Presidential candidate Bongbong Marcos Jr. for an audit of the system used in the recently concluded national elections.

According to COMELEC chairman Andres Bautista, the result of the voting of the COMELEC En Banc regarding the said issue is unanimous, and that they consider the joint canvassing of the Senate and the Lower House for the votes on the President and Vice President this afternoon.

However, Bautista clarified that the COMELEC is open for a system audit if the one who will conduct the said procedure are Information Technology experts that are not related to any political party.

Prior to this, Marcos’ camp asked if they can audit the system used by the COMELEC in vote counting as they claim that they were cheated in the said elections.
