BORACAY, Philippines - Two (2) persons are reported dead on arrival while one (1) other and an unborn infant was rushed and saved at the Island Clinic in Boracay. Arnelyn Salibio, 7 years old was the first victim to have been reported Dead on Arrival (DOA) after she was electrocuted in their yard at Brgy. Yapak, Boracay.
Her mother, Rosita Salibio, 41 who is pregnant to a 7-month old infant was saved after the incident. On the other hand, Cristina Matillano, 31 was also reported DOA, who abandoned her husband and two kids because of this incident.
This happened around 9 A.M. Saturday, November 5 after AKELCO's live wire was accidentally cut-off and fell on their yard which causes explosion and fire as seen on this video clip.
In a report from Radyo Todo, Ludovico Salibio, father of Arnelyn attempted to save his wife and child but failed to because of the high voltage coming from the live wire that kills his 7-year old kid.
Matillano, on the other hand, had just went to Salibio's residence to buy some Papaya when she and the victims met the accident. The live wire fell right to where Matillano was standing waiting for Cristina to come out of their residence.
Meanwhile, Rosita Salibio was transferred to Kalibo General Hospital for complete and proper medication. AKELCO [Aklan Electric Cooperative, Inc.] Management is yet to issue Official statement regarding this incident as of this writing.
