MANILA, Philippines — Manny Pacquiao unseated Jessie Vargas to reclaim the WBO welterweight title, fashioning out a unanimous decision win before a sellout crowd.
After 12 rounds, the three judges gave the scores 118-109, 118-109 and 114-113 all in favor of the Filipino athlete.
Here's a look at the official score card:
On the other hand, Floyd Mayweather Jr. tried to steal the spotlight at the Thomas & Mack Center here Saturday (Sunday in Manila) by showing up shortly before Manny Pacquiao took the floor against Jessie Vargas.

As he walked down the aisle, Mayweather was met with boos from the 16,132-strong crowd that packed the arena.
He was then spotted chatting with former champion Timothy Bradley, who was working at the broadcast panel as an analyst, then exchanging pleasantries those around.
Top Rank chief Bob Arum later disclosed that Mayweather’s appearance came as no surprise
“He (Mayweather) called, he was very nice. He said he wanted to watch so (Top Rank president) Todd (duBoef) got him credentials,” Arum told reporters at the post-fight press conference.
“We seated him at ringside and we got tickets for his entourage,” added the veteran promoter.
Mayweather watched intently as Pacquiao dominated Vargas for 12 rounds to claim the WBO welterweight title.
An interesting scene occurred in the 11th when Pacquiao looked as Mayweather’s direction, as if asking his former rival if he likes what he sees.
Pacquiao himself also revealed that he had a hand in Mayweather’s attendance in the fight.
“Yes, I invited him to come tonight. He's my guest,” the Filipino icon said after hacking out a unanimous decision victory in an impressive display of speed and punching power.
Speculations about Mayweather making his presence felt on Saturday’s fight intensified when Freddie Roach said he indeed expects the former pound-for-pound king to show up.
And when Mayweather actually did, it fueled talks that he is interested in a rematch with Pacquiao, whom he defeated in boxing’s richest fight.
Mayweather has also reportedly resumed sparring recently, another hint of a possible comeback.
But Arum is quick to temper expectations.
“Floyd is retired. I respect that,” he said.
