MANILA - The House of Representatives came to the President’s defense amid his constant apology regarding his controversial statements.

According to House Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez, what is important is that President Rodrigo Duterte is willing to apologize for his mistakes, and that his critics should understand that the President is faced with a lot of problems.

House Majority Leader Rodolfo Farinas said that we should understand the President because he is still in the adjustment period of holding the highest post in the country.

However, Farinas mentioned that the President should refrain from speaking and continue with his work.

Meanwhile, Senator Richard Gordon admits that President Digong is quite loud, which can harm the country in the end.

According to the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Justice and Human Rights, the reason why the country is constantly being criticized by international organizations and the foreign media is because our President is “talkative.”

Gordon added that because of the President often utter the words “Papatayin Kita”, he often gets the flak in connection with the issue of the alleged extra-judicial killings.

The Senator said that though he is friends with the President, he is not fond of how he keeps on talking.
