MANILA - High-profile inmate Jaybee Sebastian revealed during Monday’s Congress hearing on the alleged illegal drug trade inside the New Bilibid Prison, that aside from NBP illegal drugs is being sold in Manila City Jail and Bicutan Jail as well.
Sebastian said that prisoners use the money from selling illegal drugs and other contraband to sustain their needs inside the jail, including food, medicine, housing and other necessities.
Sebastian added that when former Bureau of Corrections Chief Franklin Bucayu took over the NBP, the illegal drug trade got worse.
In spite of the said massive illegal drug trade inside NBP, Sebastian did not directly link Senator Leila De Lima from having any knowledge or involvement from it.
