The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines announced that a yellow alert will be raised in Luzon from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. due to lower ancillary services.
The available capacity is approximately 9,591 megawatts (MW) while the peak demand is at 9,073 MW.
The following power plants were shut down: Ilijan Block B, Quezon Power (Philippines, Limited Co., Pagbilao 2, Malaya 1 , Sta Rota mod. 2, South Luzon Therman Corp., Limay 2 and Angat 2.
Meanwhile, the following power plants have limited capacity: Malaya 2 (280 MW from 350 MW), Calaca 1 (155 MW from 200 MW) and Limay (300 MW from 540 MW).
